Marbella AI’s Harvard Event Equips Students & Founders with autonomous AI Agents
Hands-on workshop brought students, founders, and professionals together to build working, autonomous AI agents
CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts — Marbella AI, an AI education platform born out of the Harvard Innovation Labs ecosystem, hosted “Build in Agentic AI at Harvard,” a hands-on workshop on July 7, 2026, at the Smith Campus Center, drawing students, founders, and professionals for guided building and mentorship.
Reflecting Marbella AI’s philosophy that AI competency is “a practice problem, not a content problem,” the no-code workshop let participants build and deploy autonomous agents.
Born out of the Harvard Innovation Labs ecosystem, Marbella AI redefines AI education through project-based learning and elite mentorship. The platform offers structured programs spanning Beginner AI Literacy, Intermediate AI Programming, Advanced AI Research, and Corporate Partnerships, ranging from single-day on-site intensives to four-week online bootcamps. This includes its flagship U.S. Summer Research Program, led by Dr. Jason Dou, Dr. Jonathan Wang, Grace Wu, Alison Li, and Zack Gao, which integrates literature review, AI-assisted research, academic writing, prototype development, and presentation.
“Our mission is to empower the next generation with AI fluency—not simply AI literacy,” said Dr. Jason Dou, Founder and CEO of Marbella AI. “We want students to become researchers, builders, and creative leaders who understand AI's technical foundations and societal impact.”
This methodology has demonstrated significant academic outcomes. Student Leo Ling is building AI-powered marketing agents for insurance professionals. David Chen conducted public policy research under a Harvard Kennedy School professor, published a peer-reviewed article, and was admitted to Columbia College with guidance from Chief Creative Officer Qinghua Wang and Partner Xander Wu. Additionally, Calvin Yu co-authored two AI research papers under Dr. Dou, presented at the MIT AI for Health Conference, and was admitted to the University of Chicago.
Beyond STEM, Marbella AI is expanding into creative disciplines. Chief Creative Officer Qinghua Wang, together with Creative AI Mentor Molly Xitong Zhang, leads initiatives exploring human aesthetics, taste, and artistic expression in the age of generative AI. Raised amid the classical gardens of Suzhou, China, and trained at the Pratt Institute, Wang translates her extensive background in architectural and interior design—including her work on landmark Upper East Side townhouses and luxury retail spaces like Clé de Peau Beauté—into Marbella AI’s generative AI curriculum. By teaching students how human perception, cultural heritage, and design judgment actively shape generative AI, Wang treats culture as “the source of meaning that connects identity, memory, and time.” Meanwhile, Zhang integrates her active work in curating art exhibitions directly into student creative projects and portfolio development, mentoring them on how generative AI enhances curatorial practice, artistic expression, and cross-cultural dialogue.
“The future belongs to people who combine technical fluency with curiosity, creativity, empathy, and leadership,” said Dr. Jason Dou. “Artificial intelligence should amplify human potential—not replace it.”
Strategic media documentation and editorial coverage were coordinated by Industry Global. Under the direction of Founder Alice Yim, the agency leveraged its Agentic Marketing framework to distribute the event's key insights to global technology and educational innovators.
